According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), in 2022 Black women in the United States made up 1,944 new cases of reported ovarian cancer and 1,405 died per every 100,000 cases. In North Carolina per the American Cancer Society (ACS) there are 680 new estimated cases of ovarian cancer in women of color and an estimated 430 deaths every year.
